Registered Dietitians (RDs or Dietitians) are uniquely trained food and nutrition specialists. They are the recognized experts in translating scientific evidenced based nutrition facts into practical and easy to understand information. Dietitians work in a variety of locations including community agencies and clinics, public health, hospitals and in government and policy development. All RDs must be a registered member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario in order to practice in Ontario.
Dietitians are nutrition specialists who counsel and support clients to make changes in their eating habits to promote a healthy lifestyle and to prevent or manage a chronic illness. They provide nutrition education in both individual and group settings to help clients reach their nutrition related goals.
At North Muskoka Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic, the Dietitian collaborates with other members of the health care team to support the care and needs of all clients. Together the team can manage nutrition for health promotion, disease prevention and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
Please speak to your Nurse Practitioner about accessing our Dietitian Services. You can speak to the receptionist either by phone or in person to schedule appointment.
